How To Become Instagram Famous

So you want to be Instagram famous but have no idea how to accomplish that goal. Well, I took the liberty of doing a little research to see what most Instagram celebs have in common. From that, I comprised a list of ten practical things you can do to increase your chance of becoming Instagram famous. These ten things if implemented in your strategy, I believe, will greatly improve the appeal of your Instagram page to the public and possibly make you famous.

First on the list is look into modeling. Seems kinda cliche that in order to be famous on a platform that promotes photography you’d have to be a model, but the two go together like peanut butter and jelly. I did a google search on the word Instagram famous and the top seven names were all models. On a platform that like Instagram where picture and photos are the central themes, it seems natural to me that models would have the leg up on the rest of us. After all, their whole career is focused/based on the visual arts.

Second on the list is, you guessed it, get a photographer. Having professional photos on timeline puts your page a level about the rest. I'm not just talking about going to a photography studio and getting a couple of portraits done. No, I'm talking about photographing your self at Starbucks having coffee or at the beach with friends, capturing candid moments of your self with a better quality camera than the one on your iPhone. This might be tough to pull off because few people have the money to pay a photographer to follow them around. But consider these alternatives; find a friend or family member who you think might be interested in photography and put a camera in their hands. Maybe you guys can go half on a professional grade camera. One thing to keep in mind though, in order for this to be effective who ever’s in front of the camera will have to be comfortable with being transparent. Posing for the camera is wonderful, but in order to capture those real moments that people love, you have to let your guards down. Learn to relax in front of the camera and let your personality shine, people will love you for that.

Third on the list is, find a product or service to promote. Whether it be makeup, clothes, styling, personal training, or gadgets makes sure it’s something that interests you. The reason being is if you're just a regular person most companies will not pay you for endorsing their product or service. With that being said, it's better to promote something you care about and want to see more of in the world. This can be just as gratifying as, if not more than, getting an endorsement check.

Fourth, promote a lifestyle. What does that mean? Well, when a person visits your profile what’s the general impression they’ll have of you? A lifestyle is a way a person lives. Use images that depict activities, beliefs, events, etc. that are important to you. Take photos of people, places, and things that are apart of your everyday life. That means don’t try to promote your self as a skater because you went skating one weekend. Because for the rest of the week you will not be skating or doing anything that even resembles skating. So if someone who’s interested in skating started paying attention to you because you were promoting your self a skater, they're going to be disappointed. You wouldn’t want want to disappoint a fan… right? So be authentic.

Fifth on our list is to take photos with friends and family. People love to see what your iner circle looks like.

Sixth on the list is be consistent. You have to remember, this a marathon not a race. It could take months or years to develop a strong following. So be patient and stay on course. Post high-quality images regularly and make an average of 6-10 post a week. Develop a rhythm that’s sustainable in the long term. Don’t overdo it. Never make more than two posts a day. Remember, better to leave them wanting more, than to give them too much.

Seventh, don’t be afraid to travel. People love seeing their favorite celebs in different parts of the world. Capture that energy. Plan a trip and bring a camera along. Take photos that tell a story. You want your followers to feel like they were there too. But remember to always keep your self as the center of attention.

Number eight on my list is, be active. Go outside, go for a walk on the beach, or go to the coffee shop for some coffee and bring your photographer along. Photographing your self in these situations elevates the quality of your profile and makes you more appealing.

Number nine is, interact with your followers. Reply to comments, like comments, laugh at witty jokes, and post saucy emoji’s. People need to know that they are dealing with a human being and not a robot. Although replying to every comment is impractical, even harmful because it makes you seem easily accessible, having some interaction with your followers is a great way to build lasting connections. Your followers will be more likely to like future post, or in some cases, feel obligated to.

Number ten on the list is, don’t forget to smile! Positive energy is infectious and nothing spreads positive energy easier and faster than a smile. Also, no matter where you’re from in the world smiling means the same thing. Use this to your advantage and capture followers from different parts of the globe by showing-off your wonderful smile. Show the world how you are living your best life and make them fall in love with your energy.

I think if you implement what's on my list into your Instagram profile, you will be well on your way to being Instagram famous. I am currently not Instagram famous but I will be using this list as well.
