Is it Ever Too Late to Fall in Love?

Recently I had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of Karlin Ruth (age 87) and Booksin Irving (age 93). My initial impression of these two was that they had been together for 20 years plus. They finished each other's sentences, constantly made eye contact, and was generous with the PDA. The love was palpable. Considering their age and the chemistry between them, I thought these two had spent a lifetime at each other's side and was now enjoying their old age together.

It turns out what I was witnessing was not the love of two people that had spent a lifetime together but rather a newly formed couple, probably, still going through the honeymoon phase of their relationship. Ruths husband passed away back in 2012 and Irving, a former World War 2 POW, is also single. The two met when Irving was 90 years old after some friends and family thought they'd make a good match. A meeting was arranged and the two were introduced to each other. The rest, as they say, is history.

This brings back the old age question is it ever too late to fall in love? According to these two, no. The couple now lives together in the home that Ruth and her former husband shared. When I asked were they thinking of tying the knot again Irving stated they'd rather not go through the complications. Before you go turning up your noes at them for shaking up, you try planning a wedding at 87.
