Living in the moment
This week I was fortunate to meet for the first time, Jeniveve and her two daughters Naddy and Lina. Well, actually I met Jeniveve 4 months ago at a VapShop. I was trying to kick my smoking habit and I had heard a lot of good things about vaping.
How it could help curb the craving for nicotine and still appease the oral fixation most smokers develop from having a cigarette in their mouth all the time. That's exactly what I needed. Anyways, she was at the front counter and I struck up a conversation. I found out that she was a photographer, and by the end of the conversation we exchanged instagrams. I had no intentions at the time of doing a shoot with her but she was pleasant, so I wanted to keep in touch.
Well, one thing led to the next and I randomly decided last week to invite her to my studio for a photo shoot. She gladly excepted my invitation and we scheduled the shoot for Saturday. On the day of the shoot, Jeniveve told me that she had her two girls and couldn't find a babysitter. She asked if they could tag along, and assured me that they were extremely well behaved and would not get in our way. I said fine bring them, I have plenty of things to keep them occupied while we work.
Well, about five minutes into the shoot, the two girls, Naddy and Lina, drifted from the ping pong table we placed them at and were now standing directly in front of my lens. We tried to continue the shoot hoping that they would stop interrupting, but no such luck. They walked nonchalantly back and forth on my seamless background paper. It became extremely obvious that these two did not want to be left out of the photo shoot. Well, I hadn't planned on shooting an entire family, but I began taking photos of Jeniveve trying to get a handle on the situation. The two girls loved the camera and started posing. Not exactly what I originally planned but the moment was too good to pass up.
